The fact that at any point in history the deplorable act of using forced confinement, electroshocks and chemicals to create an aversion to certain sexual inclinations was acceptable is one of society’s failings.

I am opposed to any “therapy” that involves coercion, or violence. Such actions under any pretence are reprehensible and should lead to any therapist, at minimum, losing their licence.

I have been so touched by the thousands of emails and messages I have received since the Leadership election results were announced on Sunday night.

Today I spoke with Erin O’Toole. In addition to personally congratulating him on his victory and pledging my support, I confirmed my commitment to running as part of our Conservative team in the next election.

I can hardly believe it!

When I first stepped into this race people told me I had no chance of raising the $300,000 entrance fee.

Fast forward to the final week of the campaign, and we have passed the TWO MILLION dollar fundraising mark.

The number of donors a campaign attracts is an important sign of the support and enthusiasm a candidate has earned.

A question I've been asked several times since I became a Leadership candidate is:

"What's your plan to hold Justin Trudeau to account in the House?"

Politicians don’t ultimately represent their parties, and they don’t represent merely themselves. At the end of the day Members of Parliament represent their constituents and they should be answerable to them.

That is not happening and it needs to change.

There is something that bothers me about the smears that have been thrown at me throughout this race, and it has nothing to do with the deliberate misinformation itself. That is just part of being in politics.

A nation without meaningful security is a nation without meaningful sovereignty. 

Standing up for both is going to take financial investment and power of will.
